Lord, Grant me,

Time Enough--

    To do the shopping, the laundry, the dishes, pick up the house, pick up the kids, feed the dog, go to the drugstore, check the e-mail, go back to the drugstore, the vet, the bank, the library, the league games, and the play dates, and still play, help with homework, read bedtime stories,

and not lose it completely. 

Energy Enough--

       To be breadwinner and dinner maker, ball player and bill payer, cab driver and semi-adequate parent. 

Heart Enough--

To keep quiet when they whine,

Hug them when no one else would,

Find money for another Webkin/video game,

Forgive them

    when they break the window,

    put a hole in the wall,

    put a hole in the door,

    let go of the dog's leash,

    call 911 on the baby sitter they don't like,

    sneak down the street to put a note in the little blonde girl's             mailbox,

    hide their homework assignment,

    sneak a gallon of dirt into their room for an ant farm, and

    Call my mother every night to tell her I'm really mean.

"I  child - proofed the house,

but they still got in."
