I charge the same hourly rate as I charge for fully represented clients, but I only charge for what you want me to do.
Many people are so confused and intimidated by the Pro Se Forms that must be used in St. Louis County that they give up or the judge rejects their paperwork.
For this reason, I offer an initial pleadings and help package for a set $300.00. For this price I will prepare all of the pleadings which you must file, meet with you personally, and explain what you should expect as you go through the divorce process.
Thereafter, if you want any more of my help we will proceed on an hourly basis, with me handling just those tasks which you contract for with me.
No. At this time I am only helping pro se clients who are filing for divorce in St. Louis County and St. Louis City. This may change in the future.
You can get them on line at the st. louis county family court site. Click on www.__________
Most people should be represented by a lawyer, instead of trying to get a divorce by themselves. This is especially so if there are children or if it is a long marriage with property and other issues.
However, some people must get divorced and in the current recession have no other option than to try to go it alone. If this is the case, and you are fairly sophiticated, you may want to try to get your own divorce.
Yes. In Stl Louis County it costs $140.00 to file for a divorce and $36 to pay for a sheriff's deputy to serve the summons on your spouse.
